Description

Daniel Webster Autograph Letter Signed. Four integral pages, 4.5" x 7", Washington, February 16, 1848, to Thomas Aspinwall, the United States Consul in London, as a letter of introduction for John Screven. Screven (1827-1900) served as a colonel in the Confederate Army and later served as mayor of Savannah. With a 4.25" x 6.5" engraved portrait of Webster. Folds. Very light ink bleed-through.
