Description

Alexander Hamilton Letter Signed. One page, 7.75" x 4.75" (sight), "Treasury Department [Washington]," October 17, 1789. Writing to an unknown recipient one month into his tenure as secretary of the treasury, Hamilton asks that he refer to his previous letter "of the 2d: - for the Information you request." At the end, he has signed "A. Hamilton / Secy of the Treasury." Smoothed folds with areas of mat burn. Elegantly matted in tan and brown cloth with a portrait of Hamilton; both the portrait and document are individually framed. The entirety is then archivally framed to an overall size of 17.5" x 21.5".
