Description

Alexander Hamilton: 1792 Letter Signed [LS]. 8 1/2" x 9 3/4" 1p [Philadelphia], Treasury Department, July 28, 1792, signed "A. Hamilton" as Secretary of the Treasury. Writing to Sharp Delaney, Collector of the Port of Philadelphia, Hamilton relays his favorable finding in the fraud case of Asa Gilbert, overturning a forfeiture procedure upon payment of reasonable costs and charges.

Condition: Laminated with a heat setting acetate, signature a little light. Some loss along left side, not affecting text or signature. Very good.
