Alexander Fleming Autograph Letter Signed "Alexander Fleming". One page, 6" x 9.5", Cleveland, March 24, 1954 to Mrs. Franklyn Parris, thanking her for her "...letter suggesting that I become an honorary member of... the Shut-In's Day Assn. I have written to Mrs.McBride accepting the invitation..." Written later in life, Fleming (1881-1955) died the following year and was buried as a national hero in the crypt of St. Paul's Cathedral in London. His discovery of penicillin had changed the world of modern medicines by introducing the age of useful antibiotics and his discovery of the penicillin has saved and is still saving millions of people. Usual folds, else very fine condition.
