Presentation Copy of Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents of the United States from George Washington 1789 to John F. Kennedy 1961. Washington, D.C.; United States Government Printing Office, 1961. 8vo. Deluxe Limited Edition. Inscribed and signed by Jacqueline Kennedy on the limitation page to administrative assistant, David Bell, "The President was going to give you this for Christmas - Please accept it now from me with deepest appreciation Jacqueline Kennedy December 1963." Bound in full burgundy leather, gilt title and spine gilt decorated, all edges gilt, Bell's initials "D.E.B." in gilt at the lower right corner of the front board. Housed in a marbled slipcase.

Signed shortly after Kennedy's assassination on November 22, this book was given to David Bell, who had served in several capacities under President Kennedy. Bell joined the Kennedy administration as the Director of the Bureau of the Budget. There, he worked to formulate the new economic policy. In 1962, Bell became the Administrator of the Agency for International Development.

Condition: Corners rubbed on slipcase. Spine lightly rubbed and cracked, front joint cracked. Lower corners on pages 239 - 246 bent.
