Description

Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard Parole Signed "G.T. Beauregard." One partially printed page, 7.75" x 4.25", Greensboro, North Carolina; May 1, 1865. Issued to "2nd Lieut A.R. Toutant, of Texas, Tucker's Regt. - Actg A.D.C. P.A.C.S" who has "given his solemn obligation not to take up arms against the Government of the United States until properly released from this obligation." Docketed on the left side and on verso. The left reads in part: "US Qrs recpt of the Gulf Office Pro Mar Genl. New Orleans May 22, 1868/Reported and Registered..."

Condition: Flattened folds, with light toning and soiling at the folds and edges. Mat burn. Docketing overlaps a section of the text. Bold and clear signature by Beauregard.
