Description

Queen Victoria Patent with Full Seal. One partially printed page on vellum, 30 x 20 1/2 inches, [England]; November 20, 1875. With attached Great Seal of Queen Victoria, measuring 6 1/2 inches in diameter, one side showing the Great Seal of the Realm, the other depicting Queen Victoria on horseback. The patent, "No. 4044" is granted to George Grundy for "Improvements in Carburetters."

Victoria assumed the throne at the young age of 18, following the death of her uncle in 1837. She reigned until 1901, making her one of the longest reigning monarchs in British history, surpassed only by Elizabeth II.

Condition: Creased at folds. Docketed on verso with pencil annotation and scattered remnants of sealing wax.
