Queen Mary II of England Document Signed "Mary R." One page of a bifolium, 9" x 13.75", Court at Whitehall, October 16, 1691. A document ordering monies to be paid to various courtiers. Also signed by an impressive combination of names: Lord Godolphin, Sir John Lauder, Richard Hampden, and Sir Stephen Fox, who was the grandfather of Charles James Fox.

Mary II reigned as Queen of England and Ireland from February 13, 1689 until her death 28 December 28,1694. Mary, a Protestant, came to the throne following the Glorious Revolution, which resulted in the deposition of her Roman Catholic father, James II. Mary reigned jointly with her husband and first cousin, William III, who became the sole ruler of both countries upon her death.

Condition: Document has been backed at an earlier time. Toned along edges and at folds. Paper is fragile and has begun to flake along right margin.
