Manuel Rosas Autograph Letter Signed. Three pages, 6" x 8.25", San Juan Bautista, November 24, 1835. In part: "My spirit is dampened, but my will, never . . . the 100 men Col. Ugartechea brought with object of taking troops of the celebrated Jose Juan [Sanchez]. Well, friend, I find myself taking charge of 40 horses, 40 or more cannon, oxcarts to carry supplies, & friend, if in some way I do not find a man to help me in these circumstances, I believe I'll go crazy." The letter contains a water stain at the bottom. Fine condition. From the Taking of Texas Collection.
