Group Lot of Sixteen Documents from the Reigns of Eight British Monarchs. Includes:

[King James II]. Document from His Reign. One page (in Latin) on vellum, 19 7/8 x 6 1/4 inches, [England]; [circa 1685-1688].

[King William III]. Three documents from His Reign. The first, one page (in English) on paper, 7 5/8 x 12 1/4 inches, [England]; July 4, 1697. The second, one page (in English) on paper, 11 7/8 x 7 inches, [England]; January 1, 1701. The third, one page (in Latin) on paper, 12 x 14 7/8 inches, [England]; [circa 1689-1702].

[Queen Anne I]. Three documents from Her Reign. The first, one page (in Latin and English) on paper, 7 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches, [England]; January 5, 1705. The second, one page (in English) on vellum, 28 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches, [England]; 1707. The third, two pages (in English) of a bifolium, 8 x 12 1/4 inches, [England]; 1711.

[King George II]. Document from His Reign. One page (in English) on vellum, 10 1/4 x 16 inches, [England]; April 25, 1734.

[King George III]. Document from His Reign. Four printed pages of a bifolium (in English), 8 x 12 1/2 inches. London: Charles Eyre and William Strahan, 1780. An Act for obviating Doubts, touching the binding and receiving of poor Children Apprentices...and for ascertaining the Settlement of Bastard Children born in the Houses of Industry within such Hundreds or Districts.

[King George III]. Sir Charles Long, First Baron of Farnborough Autograph Letter Signed. One page (in English), 8 1/8 x 12 1/2 inches, "Treasury Chambers," [London]; March 14, 1794. Addressed to "Capt Bisset / Commissary General." In small part: "Having laid before the Lords Commrs of his Majesty's Treasury a report of the Comptrollers of Army Accounts on an application from Mr Adams Contractor for supplying the Camps to be paid for Stores sent from Danbury to Lexdon Heath..." Signed, "Charles Long."

[King George IV]. R. Storer Hand Colored Engraving. London: T. Cadell, 1822. From Magna Britannia Vol VI by Samuel Lysons. One page, 11 3/8 x 8 7/8 inches. Hand-colored, depicting the painted glass in the east window of Beer Ferrers Church.

[King George IV]. Document from His Reign. One page (in English), 7 7/8 x 12 3/8 inches, London; December 19, 1826. Addressed to the Quartermaster General. In full: "I have the honor to request that you will be pleased to grant a Route for a Detachment of 8 Segs and 140 Rank & File from the Coldstream Guards to march from the Tower of London on Thursday next the 21t Instant and to occupy the Kennington and Buckingham House Barracks until further orders." On the verso: "This may be if you approve it, as 440 will still remain in the Tower - part of which may move into Westminster on Friday morning - G." Below, in another hand: "Very well."

[Queen Victoria]. Lord Stanley of Alderley Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium (in English), 8 x 12 3/4 inches, "Foreign Office," [London]; December 11, 1850. From Edward Stanley, 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley, to William Garrow Lettsom. In small part: "I am directed by Viscount Palmerston to acquaint you that the Queen has been graciously pleased to approve of your being transferred..." Signed, "Stanley of Alderley."

[Queen Victoria]. Two Documents from Her Reign. The first, an appointment for a priest, one partially printed page (in English) on vellum, 11 x 6 7/8 inches, Stafford County; December 18, 1864. The second, a marriage license, one partially printed page (in English) on paper, hinged at top edge, 13 x 8 1/8 inches, Winchester; March 1, 1851. With blind embossed seal at bottom left corner.

[King George V]. Sir Godfrey Haggard Partial Document Signed Twice. One page (in English), 8 1/2 x 12 1/4 inches, Chicago; June 8, 1932. This is the final page of a longer document, signed twice by Sir Godfrey Digby Napier Haggard during his tenure as Consul General for Chicago.

Condition: Documents are generally very clear and legible. Light toning, binding remnants, creasing at folds, annotations, and scattered soiling throughout. Minor wear present, including short tears or loss, mostly at the edges.
