George II of England Document Signed. One page, 8.25" x 13", n.p., January, 29, 1745. King George II (1683-1760) was the last British monarch to have been born outside Great Britain. He is famous for numerous conflicts with both his father, King George I, and his son, King George III. Early on, he was a weak ruler, allowing Sir Robert Walpole to essentially control the government. W.C. Putnam Collection Davenport Public Museum stamp.
