General Erwin Rommel Document Signed "Rommel." Two typed pages, 8.25" x 7", in German, January 6, 1942. Rommel, as general of the Armored Corps and commander of Panzer Group Africa, certifies that the two names on the list are correct for a ceremony to receive the War Merit Cross, second class, with swords.
