Description
Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna Letter Signed. One page, 8 3/8 x 12 inches; Campeche [Mexico]; October 28, 1824. Written in Spanish to the Minister of State of the Office of Relations, Lucas Alaman. In full [English translation]: "I have received and ordered published, for the notice of these inhabitants, the decree of the general Congress which Y.E. communicates to me, dated the 15th of September last, by which the title of City is granted to Colima, and to the town of San Francisco Almoloyan the title of villa." Signed, "An. Lopez de Santa Anna."Condition: Flattened folds with minor creasing. Approximate 2" tear at upper left margin, reinforced with tissue. Moderate adhesive staining along upper margins, touching text but not affecting. Small tear at lower left.
