Napoleon writes to Eugène de Beauharnais, his adopted son and viceroy of Italy, making arrangements for the purchase of rice from Italian suppliers. In French, untranslated, Napoleon asks that rice be purchased at Milan and transported to Magdebourg (Magdeburg). He signs, "Your affectionate father, Np." Matted and framed to an overall size of 14.75" x 18.5". Not examined out of the frame.

Condition: Gently toned, with flattened folds. Pencil annotations in the top margin. Left edge is a bit irregular, likely from being detached from an integral page.
