Description
Mount Everest 1978 Team-Signed Postcard. 8.25" x 5.75", no place; bearing a cancellation stamp dated January 3, 1978. The postcard is signed by the 1978 expedition team, led by Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler. The team set a record as the first to reach the summit without the aid of supplemental oxygen. Signed "R. Messner", "P. Habeler" and by the nine other members of the Austrian Everest expedition. The mountaineers took an extended amount of time reaching the summit due to frequent collapsing from the lack of oxygen.Condition: Light edge toning, with minimal foxing. Minor corner bumping.
