Description
Thomas Gage Document Signed. One page, 8" x 12.25" (sight), New York; August 25, 1766. An order to pay "... Captain John Brown, paymaster of the Second Battalion of His Majesty's Sixtieth...Regiment...where Lieut. General Sir Jeffery Amherst is Colonel in Chief...the sum of Two Thousand Sixty Eight Pounds, One Shilling..." Signed, " Thos. Gage." Matted and framed with an engraving of Gage to an overall size of 17.5" x 17". Not examined outside of the frame.Condition: Heavy chipping along left margin along with some dampstaining. Letter is toned from age with minor foxing.
