Oliver O. Howard Autograph Letter Signed "O. O. Howard." One page, 5.25" x 8", on his personal letterhead, Burlington, Vermont, n.d., to General Horatio [Collins] King, Brooklyn, New York. Former Union general and veteran of many important Civil War battles, Howard speaks of old comrades to Medal of Honor recipient Horatio C. King. In full: "I think I shall quit going to our Reunion this year. Please do not let me be a candidate for any office. I saw Gen. Porter (Fitz John) lately at Morristown. He was really ill, though he made an effort to see me. Gen. Greene is still young in his 96th year. Kindest regards to all comrades." Mild toning, intersecting folds, else fine condition.
