George Meade Autograph Letter Signed on "Headquarters, Military Division of the Atlantic, Philadelphia" letterhead. One page, 5" x 8", October 30, 1872, polite letter supplying Meade's requested autograph. Fine.More Information:
Meade, a career U.S. Army officer best known for defeating Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, wrote this letter only seven days before his death in Philadelphia.
