General Edward R.S. Canby: Scarce Orders in His Hand. On notecard letterhead of "Headquarters, Military Division of West Mississippi, New Orleans, La., ,,,,186_." Undated, but almost certainly 1864. The order reads, "Send these and the dispatches for Gen. Halleck by the boats and deliver for the next boats, Edw. Canby M.G." The document measures 5" x 4.25", and is in very nice condition.
