Description
Daniel Morgan Document Signed. One partially printed page, 6 1/2 x 8 inches; Frederick County, [Virginia]; February 1, 1793. Legal bond stating in part: "Eppa Hubard and Daniel Morgan both of Frederick County are held and firmly bound to Nathaniel Burwell of Carters Grove in the full and just sum of Twenty five Pounds... whereas the goods and chattels of the above bound Eppa Hubard hath been taken by distress, for rent due the said Nathaniel Burwell... Twelve Pounds ten Shillings... if the said shall well and truly pay the said sum... at the end of three months from the date hereof, then the above obligation to be void..." Signed, "Dan Morgan" at conclusion, and testified by John Morgan and John Summerton. Endorsed on verso.Condition: Toned with flattened folds. Pinholes and some separation at intersections of folds, affecting text, along with areas of separations at the edges of folds. Two cut sections at bottom right margin have been folded over and adhered with wax, with the end of Morgan's signature crossing over. Pencil notation on recto, and scattered ink stains on verso.
