Description
Confederate General William Edmondson Jones Document Signed "W. E. Jones". One page. June, 1853. Jones signs this forage requisition document to account for hay fed to animals at various Texas forts and outposts. Jones was a West Point graduate who entered Confederate service as a Captain and fought at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. He was killed on May 5, 1864 at the Battle of the Wilderness. The document has the usual fold creases, else this scarce signature is in fine condition.Auction Info
