Description

Confederate General Albert Gallatin Jenkins Signature. 3" x 1.5", affixed to a slightly larger slip of paper. When the Civil War began, Jenkins served as a delegate to the First Confederate Congress, but went to the field after being appointed a brigadier general in August 1862. He was killed at the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain in May 1864. This signature has been excised from a larger letter.
