The top photograph shows the devastation of what is left of Hiroshima, Japan following the dropping of the first atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. The second photograph shows the bomb itself with the signatures of four crew members of the Enola Gay, pilot Paul Tibbets, radio operator Richard "Dick" Nelson, navigator Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk, and bombadier Tom Ferebee, at each of the four corners in blue marker.
