Description

Samuel Remington Document Signed "S Remington". One page, partly-printed bank deposit slip, 3.5" x 4", Ilion [New York], May 19, 1854. He filled out the bank deposit slip for $44.00 in bills, dated it, and signed his name at the bottom. Samuel, a shrewd marketer skilled in foreign sales, was the middle son of Eliphalet Remington II, the founder of E. Remington & Sons (later the Remington Arms Company). Original spindle hole affecting nothing, else fine condition. Includes a modern printed photo of Samuel. Also included is a similar 1857 deposit slip from the same bank where E. Caswell has deposited a check for $25.00 from Eliphalet Remington Jr. along with a modern printed photo of the Remington Arms founder.
