John Slidell (Confederate diplomat)- Large, bold clipped signature.
Francis H. Smith (Superintendent of V.M.I. for 50 years and commanding officer at John Brown's execution)- Signed note dated February 6, 1865.
Francis H. Smith- 1884 ALS on V.M.I. stationery.
