Description

Harry Houdini Inscription and Signature. One page, 5.25" x 8" (sight), no place; no date. The inscription reads: "To Dr. Frank H. Vizetelley / With compliments / of the author / Harry Houdini / May I ask you to accept my book / which is the first authentic / history of magic & magicians ever / Published. H. H." The upper board of Harry Houdini's book, The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin, matted and framed side by side with his inscribed and signed front endpaper to an overall size of 20.5" x 16.25". Not examined outside of the frame. Frank Horace Vizetelly was a prolific writer, authoring over two hundred books, and was the editor of the New Standard Dictionary. He was also a great friend of Houdini and penned a tribute to the magician in The New York Times on November 5, 1926 after his death following complications from a ruptured appendix.

Condition: Minor toning from age. Frame is rubbed with some scratching.
