Description

Grover Cleveland: ALS as President Discussing Fishing Gear. Autographed Letter Signed, Washington, D.C., January 3, 1896, 3pp on bifolium Executive Mansion stationery, to Frederick Spark of Philadelphia, together with transmittal envelope addressed in Cleveland's hand. In part: "... two fishing rods... have broken down... I have just directed my man Gray Gabler to send them to you for repair... When you receive them will you please do whatever is necessary to put them in complete condition and send them to 'S. B. Waight Buzzard's Bay Mass'. Could you also get two first rate sound bamboo poles and finish them for me... I already owe you something for the large floats you made for me last summer..." Slight bleeding to signature, but generally a fine example written as President with good content.
