Description
Francisco "Pancho" Villa Oversized Photograph Signed. Sepia toned portrait measuring 15" x 19", and double matted to an overall size of 20" x 24". This photograph is copyrighted in 1914 and is signed by the El Paso photographer in the lower right corner. Villa signs in fountain pen across his chest, "Francisco Villa". Signed images of Villas are very scarce, we have handled only one other, much smaller and with condition issues affecting the signature. Offered here is a much larger image boasting a signature that measures over 9" long. It was obtained from the estate of the widow of the photographer who originally took the photograph.Condition: A small puncture tear occurring just above Villa's head has been professionally repaired.
