Aviation pioneer and explorer, Charles Lindbergh, is best remembered for his historic solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. The 33-hour journey aboard the custom-built monoplane named "Spirit of St. Louis" made him an international hero and a symbol of aviation's possibilities.
