Description

William Randolph Hearst Signed Picture With Autograph Note. The famed American publisher pens a brief note on a photographic illustration of a Munich fountain from an unidentified German book. The note reads in full: "Dear Mr. Hillman, This is a pretty fountain. Can you kindly learn what a reproduction of it could cost? Sincerely W. R. Hearst." The illustration measures 8.25" x 11.75" and has intersecting vertical and horizontal folds with a few short splits in the folds, none of which affect Hearst's note. It is unknown if this fountain was ever reproduced, or, if it was, whether it is sited at Hearst Castle or one of Hearst's other opulent properties.
