Description
John Dillinger is issued a $1000 life insurance policy in 1923.
Two Dillinger Family-Related Documents. The first item is a
Life Insurance Policy for $1000 on the Life of John
Dillinger with a photostatic copy of his signed application.
Four conjoined pages of 12.5" x 18.5" with two smaller attachments
(one the application stat), preprinted and filled in by typewriter
with facsimile signatures of the insurance company officers, June
11, 1923, Tippecanoe, Indiana. Insurance on the Life of John H.
Dillinger with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of New York
in the amount of $1000. He lists his occupation as "Machinist" on
the application and his address as R.R. 2, Mooresville, Indiana.
The beneficiary is listed as his father, John W. Dillinger. The
second item is a Promissory Note Signed "John W.
Dillinger" for $180. One page, 8.5" x 3.5",
preprinted form filled in by typewriter carbon, March 6, 1920,
Indianapolis, Indiana, payable in one year to Herman and Elizabeth
Hugenberger. This is the year that the senior Dillinger sold his
properties in Indianapolis and moved his family to Mooresville.
