Description
Frank James: A Fine Autograph Letter Signed from this Notorious Outlaw. Written in strong pencil on front and back of beige-colored stationery, with large, bold signature.In July 1911 James writes from Kearney, Missouri to "Johns" who apparently is advising him with regard to a business or employment opportunity. "Reading between the lines," Frank says he has interpreted his friend's comments to meant that he should proceed with caution to get a "square deal," making sure the terms are clearly expressed. He assures Johns that as soon as he has been assured that "their propositin seem to be fair [sic]" he will "go instantly to St. Louis if they desire my presence there. We will certainly bring this mater to a successful termination if they meet us halfway."
While some collectors prefer examples written in ink, a pencil letter like this one has its advantages: pencil will not fade or smudge as ink sometimes does. 7.75" x 10.25", excellent condition.
