Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr., has placed an inscription on the front free endpaper to Maude and Leonard Ballou. Illustrated with sixteen pages of photographs. Cloth over boards with the author's name in gilt on the front cover and gilt titles on black on the spine. Illustrated dust jacket which shows light shelfwear.



More Information: The Ballous were close personal friends of the Kings'. Maude Ballou served as Dr. King's personal secretary from the formation of the Montgomery Improvement Association, where she organized carpools through the bus boycott, through the King's move to Atlanta in early 1960. She remained as his secretary until the summer of 1960 when she and her family moved to Virginia upon her husband's acceptance of a position on the faculty at Virginia State College.
