Victor Hugo Autograph Quote Signed. One page, 7" x 44.25", no place; no date. A quote from Les Misérables, in French. It reads [English translation]: "Being a saint is the exception; to be righteous is the rule." Signed, "Victor Hugo." Accompanied by a sepia toned photograph of Hugo affixed to a mounting page to the overall size of 2.5" x 4.25".Condition: .5" closed tear to upper margin. Lightly toned and soiled. Paper attachment to verso indicating prior mounting. Pencil notation to recto.
