Description

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 4.88" x 6.75" (sight), Sussex, undated, in ink. Doyle writes to an unknown recipient: "There is no question at all that beloved animals carry on with us. I could give very many specific examples. A medium coming into my study at once saw my dead Collie. In 'Letters from the other side' Conor Withey once says that he saw his terrier 'khaki' before he saw his wife. Be sure of that. / Yours Sincerely / A Conan Doyle."

As evidenced in this letter, Doyle became heavily involved in spiritualism late in life. He was a staunch defender of proponents of life after death and ghost photography. The letter is matted and framed with a photograph of the writer and a plaque to an overall size of 20.5" x 20". Letter with usual folds and some creasing. Tiny pin punctures in upper left corner.
