Description

Rudyard Kipling Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 4.5" x 7", "The Grafton" [Washington, D.C.]; March 16, 1895. Addressed to "Mr. [John] Lane". Kipling writes, in full: "As you will see by the enclosed I have written to Mr. C. Norton (of Harvard) on the matter of Watson's visit. His notions do not jibe with mine as regards an agent but he has the greater experience and is most probably right. Certainly, his position would give him special advantage if Watson lectured at Harvard & in Boston as he suggests. Outside these two places it seems to me the season is far advanced too lecturing." Signed, "Rudyard Kipling."

Condition: Light, scattered soiling. Pencil notation to recto.
