Johannes Brahms Autograph Letter Signed "J. Brahms." One page, 5.5" x 3.5" (sight), in German, n.p., n.d. Brahms (1833-1897) was a renowned German composer known for carrying on the traditions of the Classical style of Mozart and Beethoven in opposition to the more modern approaches of the "New German School" which flourished under composers such as Richard Wagner and Franz Liszt. Matted with a 7.5" x 5.75" (sight) photograph of the composer who is heavily bearded, leaning his right side on the back of a chair, by German photographer Maria Fellinger to an overall size of 21.25" x 15.5".
