Edward Borein (American, 1872-1945): Three Etchings Depicting Cattle and Cowboys. As follows.Roped Steer: Etching and drypoint, 8" x 4.5" (image), stamped with artist signature lower right, bears inscription in pencil lower left.
Her Calf: Etching and drypoint, 9.75" x 4" (image), signed and titled in pencil in lower margin.
Chasing a Stray, unpublished: Etching, 8.75" x 5" (image), stamped with artist's signature lower right, Bears inscription in pencil lower left.
Literature: J. Galvin, The Etchings of Edward Borein, San Francisco, California, 1971, No. 133, 121, and 302.
Condition Report*:
Her Calf is framed under glass to 14.25 x 18.75 inches and there appears to be no major visible condition issues to note. Not examined out of frame.
Maverick is framed under glass to 15.75 x 18 inches and there appears to be light toning and minor foxing. Not examined out of frame.
Lead Steer is framed under glass to 12.75 x 15.5 inches and there appears to be light toning along edges of mat, slight overall paper disocloration, and a few soft handling creases; stamped signature appears to have been reinforced with pencil. Not examined out of frame.
