Description

Military Dog Tag Punch Set. Here is something we do not see too often... an apparently complete set of punches for making serial numbers and other identifying marks on military dog tags. The set is contained in the original box that measures 8" x 4" x 3". The lid has a stencil inscription that reads: "Marking Outfit For Stamping Metal." There is a paper label on the inside which serves as a template for the tags: "William Fevers[heim?] 1st Sarg't. Co. C, 74th Inf. U.S.A." The box contains five loose punches, a hammer, a brass block and a thin shim labeled "Meatcan". We assume these are still operative. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg. Condition: Good. Showing signs of wear.
