Description

Civil War-Era Josef Leiter, Vienna Field Amputation Kit.

The instruments are housed in a wooden case covered in modestly-tooled calf leather and fitted with brass catches, hinges and lock. The case is lined purple polished cotton with compartments for a bone saw, two large Liston knives and two smaller scalpels, a straight razor (marked "Agnew"), extra saw blade and an unknown device. Both large knives are marked "Leiter". The inside of the lid bears Josef Leiter's gilt label.

Condition: Very good. Light storage wear to the case with scattered scuffs and light abrasions. The instruments are slightly tarnished but are in overall excellent condition.
