Description
Engraved Powder Horn Identified to Nathaniel Bartlit, Circa 1755.12-inch curved horn with wooden base (detached). Etched on one side within a crude geometric border: "NATHANIEL / BARTLIT 1755". Cursory research indicates the Bartlit family were from Massachusetts and were Mayflower descendants.
Condition: Fair. The wooden base plug is detached and all the original small nails are missing. The horn has a 5-inch split which doesn't affect the etching.
