Description

A Superior Early Set of Tooled Leather Saddlebags. Circa last quarter of the 19th century. Flaps cover document pouch on one side and small pistol holster on other. Opening at top allowed them to be fitted over the pommel of the saddle, firmly attaching the bags while allowing quick, easy access by the rider. In beautiful state of preservation, they show good use, but the leather remains supple and has a rich color and patina.
