Description

Trick Pony Cast Iron Bank made by the Shepard Hardware Co. of Buffalo, New York and designed by Julius Mueller. The pony is made to hold a coin in his mouth until the trip is pulled and the pony's head drops, placing the coin into the trough. Mechanically sound, the piece shows some fading and wear to the horse and saddle. The bottom is patent dated July 2 and 7, 1885, with the trap closure as originally found. This piece presents in excellent condition.
