Description
Ives Clockwork Black Jig Dancers. From the golden age of mechanical toys, Ives emerged as one of the most popular and best known. Their toys were driven by clockworks and animated the figures to the delight of both young and old. Here we have a pair of Black Americans, who, when set loose, dance a jig. Dressed in vintage material, the figures are attached to the clockworks by a a metal rod. The dove tailed box appears to be walnut and retains much of its original patina. Complete and in working condition, the toy is approximately 10 inches tall.Auction Info
