Framed Sampler: "Louisa Hawking" in 1827, "worked in the tenth year of her age". Adorned with a flower border, this needlework includes a religious theme as well as the alphabet in silk on linen. It almost appears that the child didn't plan her stitches and ran out of room when placing her verse.. Virtually no loss of thread and only a couple of very minor stains.
