Description

Antique Silverplate Figural Noisemaker, 2.5" x 5", unmarked, but possibly Sheffield, ca. nineteenth century. When rotated counter-clockwise, a small toothed wheel rasps against a plate to create sound. Surmounted by a small figure of a young deer. Some wear to deer and plate, tarnished. Overall very fine. It has been suggested that this noisemaker was used to call in hunting dogs.
