Description

Jefferson Davis, "Stonewall" Jackson and Robert E. Lee: Pictorial Wall Plaques. Trio of embossed copper shell plaques, measuring 7.5", 7.75" and 8" tall, depicting President Jefferson Davis and his two most prominent generals. No markings, but likely produced in 1865 by Powell as part of a series of key figures in the just-concluded war. These may have originally been silvered, but the silvering is no longer present. Scattered verdigris. Each has imbedded wires on the verso for mounting or suspension. Rarely offered as a set.
