Description
Flags: 33-Star Antebellum Flag. 46" x 32" hand-stitched cotton flag with 33 stars in the canton, arranged in the "Great Star" pattern (February 14, 1859 to January 29, 1861). The stars appear on both sides of the canton. The hoist has four metal eyelets. One tear in the upper right-hand corner and an old horizontal repair on the second white stripe. One small hole on the third stripe. The red stripes appear to be pieced together, rather than assembled from a single length of material. Generally in excellent condition with strong colors.Auction Info
