U.S. Naval Line-Throwing Cannon by Coston. The standard line-throwing cannon used on U.S. Naval capital ships from the late 1800s through the 1950s. This cannon utilizes a pre-measured black powder charge to launching rope lines in ship-to-ship transfers and life-saving duties. Mounted on original 7-position adjustable iron frame carriage. Marked: Coston Signal Co./New York/U.S.A.
Condition: Good. Showing light age wear overall.
