Yemen, South Arabia.

16-3/4"H.
Cream and red mottled alabaster plank stele or grave marker having a relief male head at top bearing almond shaped, recessed eyes, long, thin nose and small, pursed lips. Broken in two parts, the lower bears two lines of Sabaean inscription. Some roughness on the edges and some chipping. On the whole, a nice example. Mounted on a modern display stand.
